After inspection of the ASAE to 250 service stations it was found that the decrease of 1 to 20% VAT more than 100 posts not dropped the price of LPG

At the request of the Minister of Economy and Innovation, Manuel Pinho, the ASAE has done a survey at national level of prices in venda of bottles of butane gas, propane and LPG, to see if the reduction of VAT was being met. The inspection covered 250 posts of venda of gas and inspected more than 100 of these did not feel the final price to be paid by the consumer to drop VAT from 21 to 20 percent.

The Directorate General of Economic Activities (DGAE) will now receive a list of posts, fuel and points of venda of gas made by the ASAE, then, notify the business and integrate them in the list that allows this body to monitor the price gas.

However, it was found that only 144 dropped the prices of butane gas cylinders, propane and LPG. In total, 91 operators have maintained the prices of the June 30, nine have changed only a few products and six rose same prices.

In the same operation were also brought 20 cases of contraventions by lack of conditions for some service stations. The main offences were detected the lack of fixing gas prices, breaking the rules of the Book of Complaints and lack of licensing the park gas. Were also closed three service stations - two for lack of licensing and monitoring system and other metrological only for lack of metrological control

Under the legislation, the price of gas is free but is part of the price system monitored. All these data should be accompanied by an explanation and if there is any failure companies subject to fines or, in worst cases, the punishment for crime of disobedience and misrepresentation.
